Whether he knew it or not, Marius caught Shadow’s attention and heart, though there are times she thinks that it’s always been his. It’s something that makes her stop and smile before going on with her day. The attraction between them was instantaneous and within moments he had asked Shadow to marry him and after a bout of stubbornness she agreed.
The two met in the story Coming of Age though Marius wasn’t originally suppose to travel to Arlsyn with the Vu’K’Tor it was suggested that he should and it’s a suggestion that Shadow will always be thankful for.
Despite his comment of not wanting to fix her, he did. Every time they made love a scar would disappear from her body, taking away the hurt that came with it until there was nothing left. Now the only mark she bears is his, a phoenix rising on her chest, the wings fanning out across her breasts and fades from yellow to orange to red; while he’s marked with a black dagger in to same spot on his chest.
