Bonds
The first bond Shadow ever had was to her twin brother, Argent Silverleaf. The bond between them is a strong one, connecting their minds and their senses together. They can use the other’s senses as if they were their own. They can ‘speak’ to each other as well and constantly know where the other is, no matter where they may be. They can also heal each other. But with the good comes the bad and because of the bond they share they can also cause both emotional and physical pain. This bond is one that can never be broken or blocked.
Her bond to An’Thaya Blackthorn, a woman that Shadow has called Ad’Vere for years; Ad’Vere meaning Honored Sister in the Amazon tongue. Their bond was created during Railen’s darkness when she was forced to use the conduit in her soul to bring Shadow’s soul back to her body. (Fragments II) This bond attached Shadow to the D’Riel Web with a weak connection, allowing her to drift on the outskirts and at that time it allowed An’Thaya to reach Shadow and any part of the Silverleaf Tapestry through her. Later on though Shadow made what many consider an ultimate sacrifice, giving her life to help the D’Riels. (Shattered Web) An’Thaya assisted Shadow’s siblings in bringing her back to life, tieing the forest elf to the Web and knotting An’Thaya to the Tapestry and because she shares a soul with Callan Blackthorn he can also access the Tapestry.
Shadow’s bond to Y’Roden D’Riel, her adopted father, drinking buddy and all around partner in crime…outside of his sister An’Thaya that is. While she doesn’t exactly remember how she met him, she can’t imagine her life without him. Over the years he has become one of the most important people in her life.
Everyone has someone that they’re meant to be with, for Shadow that is Marius. He is a djinn and his race can only mate with one of his own or with a deity. Her mark appeared on his chest after the first time they slept together. His mark appeared on her chest after they married.
